Managed Data Holdings signed Syska Hennessy to design, engineer and construct the expansion of its recently acquired, 86,000 square-foot data center in Oak Brook, Chicago, that operates under the Stargate name.

The current phase of expansion is nearly complete at the center, bringing 13,000 square feet of usable space online.

It supplements the 16,000 square feet of raised floor currently available.

The 13,000 square-foot expansion adds approximately 7 megawatts of critical power to the facility and makes available a full suite of managed services. At full build-out early this year, the expansion will give the data center more than 65,000 square feet of usable floor space, all with power, environmental, and network redundancy.
