Lion Apparel, the world's largest supplier of protective clothing worn by firefighters, and provider of logistics services for military personal clothing and equipment, has announced its investment in a new, world-class datacenter at its corporate headquarters near Dayton, Ohio. The new datacenter, double the size of the previous center, provides full system, power and environmental backup capabilities for more than 50 terabytes of storage and more than 600 users.
Steve Schwartz, chief executive officer of Lion Apparel, said the new facility will improve Lion Apparel's operational resilience.
"We are obsessed with our role supporting the operational readiness of our first-responder and military customers," Schwartz said. "The expansion of our datacenter ensures our 24/7 uninterrupted operations throughout the world to deliver the products and services that our valued customers need to do their jobs." Features of the new datacenter include:
Two 10-ton air conditioners - enough to cool about 10 homes measuring 2,500 square feet
Uninterruptible power supply
V6 turbo-charged diesel generator - enough electricity to power four to six houses
FM-200 fire suppression system
Satellite communications backup
