Lifeline Data Centers, an Indianapolis-based colocation company, has started building out the second phase of its data center on the city’s east side. The project will add 40,000 sq ft of space to the existing 50,000 sq ft data center.
This is one of two Lifeline sites in Indianapolis. Together with the other one, located on Henry Street, the company will have a total of 120,000 sq ft of data center space, once the expansion is complete.
Alex Caroll, one of the firm’s owners, said the expansion project was a response to market growth in the region. “Lifeline is expanding because of the continued, sustained growth in demand for data center facilities in the Midwest.”
In addition to data center space, Lifeline provides office space at this campus. It has leased or committed to more than 180,000 sq ft of office space and has more than 150,000 sq ft still available.
The company leases both retail and wholesale data center space and claims to be the largest data center provider of its kind in the Midwest. It offers access to many telecommunications carriers at its facilities and does not charge monthly cross-connect fees.
