The Republic of Panama’s President Ricardo Martinelli opened two data centers constructed by Mexican company KIO Networks yesterday.

The two 6,000 sq m data centers, on the one campus, represent KIO’s entry into the Central American market, where it will offer colocation, cloud computing, managed services and data center hosting.

KIO Networks invested US$53m into the project and said will create 100 local jobs.

KIO Networks has 11 other data centers, on three separate campuses in Mexico.
