IXEurope plc, a European specialist data center services company with 14 IXDatacentres across four countries, has signed a £31 million (excluding power) customer contract for data center facilities and support services at its London4 IXDatacentre, currently under construction to the west of London.
The five-year contract, with a global blue-chip enterprise, is for 1,500m2 net data center space and services starting in H207 with an additional 1,300m2 in H208.
IXEurope's London4 IXDatacentre is near Slough and complements the Group's existing London facilities in the City, Park Royal and West Drayton. This new IXDatacentre will initially deliver 5,000m2 of net data center space and could be expanded later by a further 5,000m2 of high specification net space with 24MW of provisioned power.
Russell Poole, general manager of IXEurope UK said: "This contract signing reflects the trust that blue-chip enterprises with demand for high specification data center space and quality professional services place in IXEurope. Demand for London4 remains strong and the build-out is on schedule to allow access to customers from the summer.
In another development, the company has announced it is extending its Paris2 IXDatacentre by 1,500m2 net data center space following the opening of the facility in January 2007. This new capacity is in response to strong growth of customer demand in Paris.
Acquisition and capital expenditure costs for the Paris2 extension will total approximately GBP4.5 million to be mostly incurred in 2007.
