IXEurope plc, a European specialist data center services company, has announced it intends to extend its London4 and Frankfurt2 IXDatacentres.
The London4 facility will be built-out to its maximum capacity (10,000 m2). Phase 1 (5,000m2) was announced in June 2006 and access to customers has commenced. Phase 2 (5,000m2) will become operational in stages and will become fully available in H2 2008. The capital expenditure expected for phase 2 is £18 million. Further capital may be committed to this facility in the future based upon power density requirements of customers.
The Frankfurt2 facility will be extended by an additional 1,600m2 bringing the total built-out net space to 8,000m2 and leaving potential further development of 23,400m2 at the site. The total capital expenditure expected for this expansion is £5 million.
These two expansions, together with the expansion of Paris2 announced in June 2007, bring the total planned capacity of the Group to 43,500 m2 net space (versus 35,400 m2 as at December 2006).
