iTRACS, the data center infrastructure management (DCIM) arm of CommScope, has launched an online resource for developers who wish to integrate other infrastructure management tools with iTRACS' Converged Physical Infrastructure Management (CPIM) software suite.
Through the online portal, called ourDCIM, the company is making available a portfolio of web-based CPIM capabilities, a chat forum and some development tools. The company said vendors and users were welcome to join the community.
George Brooks, senior VP of enterprise product and market management at CommScope, said it took an alliance of vendors to help customers manage their infrastructure. “iTRACS is spearheading this effort by making its CPIM platform openly available for qualified developers,” he said.
Joining ourDCIM may also be a way for company to join CommScope as a technology partner, the company said.
ITRACS said that one company, Melrok, has already used ourDCIM to integrate its energy management solution with CPIM. The combined power management and capacity planning solution gives DCIM customers increased visibility into and command over power usage across IT and facilities.
Melrok CEO Michael Kamel said the online portal was convenient and efficient. “It has been a very productive experience for us,” he said.
“The integration with iTRACS went smoothly, with an accelerated timetable that meant fewer development cycles. We can now bring iTRACS data into our environment, and they can bring Melrok data into theirs.”
