Alan McIntosh, who until recently was serving as CIO of Groupon, left his job with the popular shopping-discount aggregator and joined IO, a Phoenix-based provider of data center services.
IO has appointed McIntosh as its senior VP of global technology delivery, the company announced Wednesday. His responsibilities include driving growth and being involved in the company’s global technology delivery strategy and implementation.
Besides his job at Groupon, McIntosh’s resume includes design and operation of infrastructure at CBS Interactive, CNET Networks and Oracle.
IO also announced on Wednesday the appointment of Anne Wolf, a former solutions marketer at Apple, as its new senior VP of global marketing and communications. Wolf did marketing at Apple for 10 years, but more recently she had been a chief marketing officer at 41st Parameter, a fraud-detection solutions vendor.
The company has also appointed its VP of government and strategies Bob Butler as chief security officer, putting him in charge of global information security and privacy.
Butler came to IO from the public sector. He spent two years working for the US government as deputy assistant secretary of defense for cyber policy.
