Europe-based colocation provider Interxion said it will migrate its customers to French Internet exchange France-IX this year after making the exchange operational in its Paris data centers.

France-IX was formed by Google, Akami, Jaguar Netowrk and Neo Telecomes. The agreement means it is on its way to becoming France's largest exchange ÔÇô it will give France IX 70 percent of the French Internet exchange market.

Interxion managing director Fabrice Coquio said the deal offers its customers a wide range of peering opportunities, lower latency and lower transit costs. It will connect to 18 of Europe's public Internet exchanges, providing access to more than 2,000 ISPs.
