Interxion, the large European data center provider, announced Tuesday the launch of new data centers in London and Paris, bringing online about 5,000 sq ft of data center space in each of the markets.

The Paris data center floor has access to 0.5MW of power and the first phase of the London facility is powered by 0.75MW, the company said. These are Interxion’s seventh data center in Paris and its second in London.

The Netherlands-based company is planning to add a total of 43,000 sq ft at the Paris facility by March 2013, at which point it will reach its full capacity. There is room to build out an additional 12,000 sq ft of space at the London site, which Interxion plans to do by the end of 2012.

Interxion now has more than 30 data centers, serving about 1,200 customers across 11 European countries.

In May, the company announced a plan to build its second data center in Madrid, consisting of two 1.2MW phases, and in April, it announced the launch of its seventh Frankfurt data center, a 2MW capacity expansion in the market.

Some of its recent customer wins included IT outsourcer Fifosys in London, trading infrastructure services provider Orange Business Services across multiple sites in Europe and cloud-hosting company Gigas in Madrid, among others.

In May, Interxion reported strong earnings for its first fiscal 2012 quarter, which ended on the last day of 2011. The company reported €65.8m in revenue for the three months – a 14% increase year over year. Its net profit was €8.7m – up 210% from the first quarter of fiscal 2011.
