Siren Data SC-3, subsidiary of the global investment firm Silver Lake, has bought an 18 acre property in Santa Clara, Calif., from the chipmaker Intel, which had data center space on the site, San Jose Business Journal reported.
There are three buildings on the property and the buyer plans to use two of them and site of the third one to build out up to 221,000 sq ft of data center space. Besides the buildings, the site includes its own electrical substation, a key component of the deal, which gives the owner access to 20 MW of power.
