The day after it reported record full-year revenue for 2011, Intel announced a shuffle of several C-level executives, including the appointment of a new person to head its data center business.
The company’s CIO Diane Bryant will now lead its Data Center Group, replacing Kirk Skaugen as the group’s general manager. Skaugen will move to head the company’s PC business, succeeding VP Mooly Eden, who is moving to Israel to lead the company’s Israeli unit.
Bryant is taking control of one of Intel’s five major business units. The Data Center Group’s revenue accounted for US$10.1bn of the overall 2011 revenue, which was $54bn. The data center unit’s revenue grew 17% from 2010.
Intel’s other units are PC, Atom, McAfee and Mobile Communications, and a group called Other Intel architecture group. The biggest contributor to full-year revenue figure was the PC Client Group, whose control has been handed to Skaugen.
Intel has also made changes in executive leadership of its internal operations.
Brian Krzanich became Intel’s chief operating officer. He will continue overseeing the company’s worldwide manufacturing, but now will also oversee its internal IT and human resources functions.
