Customers of colocation company Telx and hosting company CoreLink can now make use of the US footprint of both companies, after an agreement was signed to expand the footprint of both in new markets.
CoreLink has operations in Seattle, Las Vegas and Chicago that Telx can make use of, while the agreement opens up markets in New York city, New Jersey, Miami, Dallas, Charlotte, Atlanta and California CoreLink customers can benefit from.
According to the companies, both have a similar approach to ‘connectivity-rich’ colocation and geographically, no locations overlap.
InAsset in Italy opens new colo data center
Italian data center provider InAsset has opened a new carrier-neutral data center, spanning 28,000 sq ft, in Udine, north-east Italy, close to the border of Austria and Slovenia
It has connections to Interoute, Cogent, BT and national carriers including Telecom Italia, FastWeb and Retelit.
The data center contains three suits and uses four redundant UPSs at 160KW each and free cooling.
QTS appoints new staff
US data center service provider QTS said its COO Brian Johnston will now take over as CTO, leading the team on IT infrastructure, product development and data center design.
QTS President Mark Waddington will take over the role of COO. He said Johnston had worked on a number of recent data center openings and expansions from initial design to conception, giving him a "unique combination of design and technological expertise and vast experience in delivering IT solutions".
Tag Greason has also joined the company, as QTS’ executive VP of enterprise sales with a focus on its Richmond and Atlanta facilities while leading up its US sales team.
