The London Metal Exchange (LME) has opened its first access node for proximity services in Equinix’s LD4/LD5 London International Business Exchange data center campus in Slough.  

LME members will now be able to connect directly to the exchange’s electronic trading platform LME select which can connect them to other base-metals trading partners around the world.  

Fujitsu rolls out high-speed broadband

Fujitsu said it is building a fiber-optic high-speed broadband network that will reach 5 million premises in rural UK.  

Its investment of £1.5 billion to £2 billion will create a network that will be in direct competition with BT Group’s network once complete in the next three to five years.

Next Connex goes high speed from London to Wales

Next Connex has signs a deal with Geo Networks to provide 780km of backhaul fiber network from London to Newport, in South Wales.  

The network supporting 10Gb/s, 40Gb/s and 100Gb/s run from Next Connex’s exchanges at Telehouse North in London connected to the Next Generation Data (NGD) data center in Newport, and will offer latency of 2 milliseconds for high-speed customers.
