Level 3 Communications has added high-speed fiber routes to Milan and Zurich from London, Frankfurt, Madrid, New York City and Chicago for financial exchange and other trader

In Stockholm, it also expanded its core networking infrastructure in TelecityGroup's Stockholm 1 site to its Stockholm II data centers, allowing for Telecity customers there to reach the same markets.

Level 3 works with Telecity in the UK, France and Germany.

Trading Technologies further links derivatives customers
Trading Technologis has launched a new connection to the Osaka Securities Exchange in Japan through its X_TRADER derivatives trading platform.

The gateway connects Trading Technologies X_TRADER users directly to the exchange for trading on products listed on the OSE, including Nikkei 225 futures and Russell Monura Prime Index futures.

TT already connects three other Japan derivative exchanges ÔÇô the Tokyo commodity Exchange, Tokyo Financial Exchange, Tokyo Grain Exchange and is planning a set up with the Tokyo Stock Exchange later in the year.

World Bank plans Tonga/Fiji connection
The World Bank is planning to put in a submarine cable system between Fiji and Tonga for high-capacity, high-speed telecommunications. 

The Asian Development Bank is currently assessing the fiber-optic project, which requires a new landing point at Sopu, Nuku'alofa in Tonga.

Tonga currently has two major retail providers ÔÇô Tonga Communications Corporation and Digicel, which have already expressed interest in using the cable which will terminate in Suva, Fiji. The World Bank is expected to provide funding for the cable it said could have a large economic impact on the South Pacific nation.
