Data center colocation and services provider Colt is working with the London Stock Exchange on its electronic trading progam, offering low-latency connections to liquidity tools for algorithmic trading as part of a hosting service, enabling sub 100 microsecond transactions.
 
Application providers hosting with Colt will benefit not only by the fast connections but close proximity to the LSE data center in the City of London. The LSE has an established colocation service that allows clients to locate trading equipment in its primary data center.
 
AboveNet reaches more of London metro
High-bandwidth connectivity solutions provider AboveNet said it has expanded its Metro Ethernet and core Wave services in the London metro market. Its networks now stretch from Slough to the Docklands and The City, providing low-latency connections for high-bandwidth customers.
 
AboveNet now connects to buildings with more than 400 data centres worldwide, including 35 in the London metro market.  
 
City Lifeline signs ihotdesk deal
London-based City Lifeline said it is now providing carrier neutral collocations services for ihotdesk, and IT support company.
 
Based in London’s ‘Silicon roundabout’, a region being pushed by government for its connectivity and access to data centers, City Lifeline was chosen for its closeness to ihotdesk’s offices and customers.
