Internet Initiative Japan’s US subsidiary is preparing to roll out its cloud and dedicated infrastructure services in the US, the company said Thursday.
The company will initially set up its infrastructure at a data center on the US West Coast, with sights on expanding to the East Coast in the future, expecting social-networking companies and enterprises to drive the majority of demand.
The service portfolio, called IIJ GIO US, will include virtual and physical servers, the former starting at US$65 per month. Virtual-server offerings vary based on the amount of compute cores and memory size, with static disk volume and network across the portfolio. There will be a variety of disk-volume options for virtual-server customers.
IIJ plans to introduce hosting and storage services it already delivers in Japan to the US market as well.
The company’s products in the US will be sold through the IIJ America subsidiary.
This is IIJ’s second announcement this month of expanding its cloud services outside of Japan. Earlier in March it announced a partnership with China Telecom to offer its cloud portfolio to the Chinese market using the Chinese partner’s network infrastructure and data centers there.
