Consultancy Hurleypalmerflatt has won a contract to design a new diesel rotary uninterruptable power supply (DRUPS) Tier 3 data center in Sydney for Macquarie Telecom.
Based in Macquarie Park, North Ryde, in Sydney’s north, Intellicentre 2 will start operations for Macquarie Telecom’s data hosting business in 2011.
Phase one is expected to cost about A$49m.
The 2-hectare site will be designed in a modular fashion, each designed to support a 1MW IT load and technologies used within will be chosen and designed to enhance energy efficiency, including natural gas tri generation technologies and high-density cooling.
