HP continued its string of restructuring announcements with news that John Visentin, senior VP and general manager of its Enterprise Services division was leaving the company.

HP has been making changes both at the top and throughout the organization as it attempts to boost its revenue and profits. In May, HP CEO Meg Whitman announced that the company would lay off or send into early retirement about 27,000 workers to cut cost and reorganize its core businesses.

At the same time it announced the mass lay-offs, HP also announced the resignation of Mike Lynch, founder of its subsidiary Autonomy and former head of HP’s Information Management unit. One week after the lay-off news HP announced appointment of software head Bill Veghte as its new COO, and earlier this month the company appointed Ramón Baez, CIO at Kimberly-Clark, as its new CIO.

Visentin’s departure became the latest in the string of changes HP has made at the top. Mike Nefkens, current SVP and general manager of Enterprise Services for Europe, Middle East and Africa, will take over at the head of the global Enterprise Services organization.

Nefkens will report directly to Whitman.

Visentin was appointed to lead Enterprise Services by Léo Apotheker, HP’s former CEO whom Whitman replaced in September.

In another executive change change, Jean-Jacques Charhon, SVP and CFO of Enterprise Services, will become COO of HP’s Enterprise Services division.

HP established the division after it bought EDS a large provider of IT services to enterprises, in 2008, paying US$13.9bn.
