According to online media reports, Hewlett-Packard has outlined plans to cut its global data centers from 85 to six.
Speaking at the HP securities analyst meeting in New York, Randy Mott, HP's CIO and the man charged with instigating a streamlining of the company's IT infrastructure said he expected the plan to better position the company to increase revenues, whilst reducing capital expenditure.
The move is part of a wider company effort, due for completion over the next three years, intended to automate as much of HP's infrastructure as possible.
