Network infrastructure services provider Host.net has expanded its footprint in a large Telx data center that acts as a carrier hotel and colocation facility in Atlanta, Ga. The company has used the facility as a point of presence since 2005 and will now also provide colocation and cloud-based services to its customers in the greater Atlanta area.

According to a Telx statement, the 160,000-square-foot building houses the largest concentration of telecoms in Southeastern US. The location is Host.net's first colocation facility outside of Florida, allowing the company to broaden its network infrastructure services and allowing it to provide remote-site services to its customers.

"Host.net has a significant customer base in greater Atlanta and surrounding areas," Host.net co-founder and CEO Jeff Davis said in a statement. "Expanding our footprint in Telx's 56 Marietta St. facility will enable us to offer a wider portfolio of services to both current and new customers in the local market."

Host.net has points of presence in other Telx facilities in Phoenix, Ariz., San Francisco, Calif., and New York, N.Y. The Boca Raton, Fla.-based company leverages the extensive fiber backbone it operates to provide Internet, MPLS and Layer 2 solutions to customers. It serves most metropolitan regions in North America and parts of Europe.
