Telecoms provider Hibernia Networks has expanded its point-of-presence (PoP) at network-neutral data center Fibre Centre, in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada.
The PoP gives customers access to the Hibernia Express, the lowest latency transatlantic connectivity submarine cable, and Hibernia’s IP transit service that has more than 800 peering interconnects.
The center of fiber
“We’re proud to be able to deliver our suite of high performance solutions into Moncton through the Fibre Centre data center, enabling customers to grow and strengthen their position within existing markets as well as expand into new international markets,” Al DiGabriele, SVP of Product Management and Marketing at Hibernia Networks, said.
Ryan Sorrey, director of information systems for the City of Moncton, added: “Direct access to reliable, high speed networks is important to our community as a vital commercial hub. Hibernia Networks’ industry leading low latency network platform provides local businesses with the competitive telecommunications infrastructure that spurs economic growth and attracts investment.”
Fibre Centre’s co-owner Hunter Newby continued: “We are thrilled to host both Hibernia Networks and the City of Moncton at Fibre Centre. Hibernia Networks’ investment in upgrading its presence to becoming a core node on their global network is a testament to the strategic importance of Moncton as a center of commerce.”
The Hibernia Express is a 4,600km high speed fiber optic submarine cable that travels from New York, US to Halifax, Canada and then across the ocean to Cork, Ireland and Slough in the UK.
