A 69,940 square foot four-storey datacenter housing computing equipment and supporting cooling plant, have been proposed by a property investment company on part of the Cody Technology Park on the border of Hart and Rushmoor, Farnborough, Hampshire.
Kenmore purchased approximately 15 acres of land from QinetiQ, a leading international defence and security technology company, and hopes to submit a detailed planning application to Hart District Council in May.
There will also be an outdoor compound housing emergency backup generators and an electrical substation.
A Kenmore spokesman said the datacenter is a hi-tech business compatible with the existing technology park uses and would generate little traffic.
