Plumridge, who this week addressed DatacenterDynamics London on assessing the impact of Storage Solutions on Data Centre Efficiency, is Director for Technical Marketing at Hitachi Data Systems in EMEA
SNIA is a not-for-profit, vendor-independent global organisation that aims to develop and promote standards, technologies and educational services to help businesses in the management of information.
Plumridge has spent three years on the board of SNIA, said: "I look forward to using this appointment to build on my work with SNIA and help develop linkages with broader industry discussions where storage is an essential component. With the growing number of EU initiatives, SNIA is developing European standards to help businesses understand and benefit from these changes, rather than simply complying. I hope to use my experience to promote best practice in areas such as cloud computing infrastructure, as well as getting more customers involved in the organisation to share their views."
