Hankou Bank’s new Guanggu Data Service Center has just gone online. It is the 34th financial data center brought online in Wuhan City, the capital city of Hubei province, China.

The project covers an area of 27,000 sq and has a floor space of 45,000 sqm. It will consist of four functional areas including data processing and storage, research and development, customer service and logistics. It has 7 highly modularized data center rooms, aiming to address business for the next 10 to 20 years.

With the new project online, Hankou Bank will complete the “Three Centers in Two Places” disaster recovery architecture, which includes Guanggu Data Service Center, Wuhan Xianggang Road Disaster Recovery Center (within the same city as Guanggu project) and Xi’an Disaster Recovery Center (outside of Wuhan).

All the information systems of Hankou Bank will have access to application-level disaster recovery services, and more than 60 major application systems will enjoy dual protection by both intro-city and inter-city disaster recovery services which meet the Level V disaster recovery requirements by China Banking Regulatory Commission.

This means in case of disasters, the banking system should recover within 15 minutes and the data loss duration shall not exceed 1 minute, which is the highest disaster recovery standard for banks in China.

Hankou Bank's Guanggu project of  is also one of the data centers recommended by China Banking Association for providing information system hosting and disaster recovery services to local small and medium banks.

Hankou Bank, headquartered in Wuhan, was established in 1997. It is the first joint-stock commercial bank operating as an independent legal entity in Wuhan.
