The company threw a private party but wouldn't allow guests inside the $600 million facility "for competitive reasons according to the Charleston Post and Courier.
The center, in testing phase now, is expected to employ 200 staff when fully operational.
Google revealed few details but said the center which sits on a 500 acre site but said it would use half the power of a data center of equivalent size.
