Google has reportedly agreed to take up capacity at an Nscale data center in West London, the UK.

The data center is a separate facility from those that OpenAI was previously set to lease from Nscale in the country.

According to a report from Bloomberg, citing a source familiar with the deal who asked to remain anonymous, the agreement will see Google accessing Nscale's Grace Blackwell GPUs.

DCD has contacted Google and Nscale for comment.

The report comes shortly after OpenAI dropped out of a previous agreement to lease space at several as yet unbuilt Nscale data centers in the UK.

Nscale's website currently lists two UK locations: one in Loughton, Essex, towards northeast London, and another in Slough, west of London.

The Loughton site was purchased in early 2025 and was said to have a power capacity of 50MW, scalable to 90MW. Currently under construction, the site aims to go live by the end of 2026. Microsoft is planning to build a supercomputer at the site with some 23,000+ GPUs.

The company also, as part of a £2.5bn ($3bn) commitment to the UK, said it would construct multiple modular data centers in the country, locations unspecified.

Google is also developing data centers in the UK. The cloud and search giant is said to be planning data centers in Teesside and Essex, and in September 2025 opened a data center in Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire.
