Global Crossing signed Telekom Malaysia Berhad into its global partner programme.

The firm, a major Malaysian integrated information and communications group, joined Global Crossing's Global Partner Program (GPP) to expand availability of its Converged IP and Private Line services to Europe and the Americas.

At the signing ceremony to signify the collaboration between the two companies during Capacity Asia 2009 in Kuala Lumpur, Global Crossing was represented by Ricky Chau, vice president, Carrier Services and General Manager, Asia, while Mohamad Rozaimy Abdul Rahman, executive vice president, Global represented TMRozaimy said, "Participation in the Global Partner Program has allowed us to extend our capabilities beyond the Asia Pacific region to meet the needs of our enterprise clients who have customers all around the globe. These new services will provide our clients with global reach, scalable connectivity, higher security, and a wide range of IP communications services, all with enhanced control and operating efficiency."

Global Crossing's Global Partner Program gives regional service providers the benefits of global reach, service expansion, reduced time-to-market and the ability to build a network or add service capabilities without significant investment. It enables providers to offer voice, video and data services to customers who may be out-of-region and gives providers a way to increase revenue by providing value-added services to customers in multiple markets the company said.
