Giga Computing has expanded its portfolio of servers with the launch of Gigabyte R1A3-T40 and R2A3-T40, powered by AmpereOne M processors.

Designed to support AI, cloud, and data center workloads, the servers use fewer nodes than other offerings, lowering the total cost of ownership and offering flexible support for both AI inference and cloud native applications, Giga Computing said.

The R1A3-T40-AAV1 is a general-purpose, single-socket 1U server, comprising four Gen5 NVMe hot-swap bays, two PCIe Gen5 x16 slots, and two 1600W 80 PLUS Titanium redundant power supplies.

Also described as a general-purpose offering, the R2A3-T40-AAV1 is a single-socket 2U server, comprising 12Gen5 NVMe hot-swap bays, one PCIe Gen5 x16 slot, and two 1600W 80 PLUS Titanium redundant power supplies.

Both servers are powered by AmpereOne M chips, which deliver up to 192 custom Ampere cores with a single-threaded Arm-based architecture. Each processor supports 12 channels of DDR5 memory with one DIMM per channel, enabling configurations of up to 1.5 TB of system memory, the company said.

“By working closely with Ampere, we have developed a portfolio of servers optimized for AmpereOne M processors,” said Vincent Wang, VP of sales at Giga Computing. “With this broader AmpereOne M portfolio launch, we’re combining groundbreaking processor technology with Giga Computing’s proven server engineering, global support, and end-to-end reliability.”

Giga Computing is a subsidiary of Gigabyte, with the parent company spinning off Giga Computing in January 2023. Giga Computing is a fully-owned data center-focused subsidiary that focuses on the development and sale of servers and server motherboards.

Founded in 2017, Ampere develops high-performance Arm-based CPUs, primarily for the data center market. In March 2025, SoftBank announced plans to acquire Ampere Computing for $6.5 billion.
