The following content is from an older version of this website, and may not display correctly.Engineering group M+W Zander is building one of the biggest data centers in Singapore at a cost of more than Euro100 million.
The facility is being built for Jurong Data Centre Development Pte. Ltd. ('JDD'), which will act as landlord, and is a subsidiary of Japan Land Limited in Singapore.
The seven floor facility will allow for more than 31 dedicated data suites with separate occupation at tier 1 to tier 4 levels. It is also possible to merge a number of suites into larger areas as required by the tenants. It will be ready to occupy in November 2009.
In addition to the data suites adjacent office accommodation will be provided for technical support staff and other commercial operations. Overall the new data center will have approximately 20,000 square meters of leasable data suite space.
It will incorporate secure, redundant infrastructure including power supplies, air conditioning and communications and will incorporate sustainable design principles and materials.
It will be registered with the Singapore Building and Construction Authority 'Construction Quality Assessment' (CONQUAS) scheme and will be Green Mark rated. "This project demonstrates that M+W Zander continues to deliver successfully on a wide range of projects and that we are able to transfer our comprehensive engineering-knowhow between facilities in all areas to meet customer needs, including for our IT customers" said J├╝rgen Wild, CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of the M+W Zander Group.
Helmut Kurzboeck, M+W Zander CEO Asia, adds: "We bring to our customer the right skill-base and experience, with the capability of self performing all design and construction aspects by our in-house system specialists, meeting the fast track schedule with excellent quality, aggressive cost targets and within strict site safety guidelines."
M+W Zander has three main divisions, Facility Solutions, Process Solutions and Product Solutions and had sales of approx. Euro 1,6 billion in the fiscal year 2007.
