Jamie Khoo has been appointed as the CEO of GDS International.
The COO of Chinese operator GDS has been promoted to lead the holding company for GDS’s international operations.
Khoo assumed the role of COO at GDS in January 2019. She also served as the deputy chief financial officer. Before joining GDS, Khoo worked at ST Telemedia.
William Huang, chairman and CEO of GDS, said: “Jamie has been an invaluable member of the GDS executive team, and I deeply appreciate her hard work and contribution over the past years. With her leadership, I am confident that GDS International will continue its successful development in international markets.”
Huang added that the COO role has been reassigned to several senior executives.
Khoo’s appointment coincides with the company’s closing of the Series A capital raise.
GDS, founded in 2006 by William Huang, currently operates dozens of data centers across Greater China, including in Suzhou Kunshan, Chengdu, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Beijing.
The company is also developing facilities in Malaysia at YTL’s new campus as well as the Nusajaya Tech Park, both located in the Johor region.
Earlier this month, GDS was reportedly in talks to sell a stake in its international operations.
