Fujitsu announced the availability of infrastructure solutions tightly integrated with Microsoft’s latest server operating system Windows Server 2012, released earlier this week.

The hardware products include Fujitsu Primiergy servers, its Eternus DX disk storage systems, its Primergy-based Cluster-in-a-box solution and its FlexFrame on Windows for SAP infrastructure solution.

Windows Server 2012 is the first major release of the operating system in four years, following Windows Server 2008 R2. Major IT original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) – including HP and Dell – have been racing to announce hardware products integrated with the latest OS.

Microsoft has been touting the OS as the first one it has designed specifically for virtualization and cloud.

Mike Schutz, general manager of product marketing for Server and Tools at Microsoft, said the OS enabled customers to “cloud-optimize” their businesses.

“By delivering systems that are based on Microsoft's proven Private Cloud Fast Track architecture and already tailored to customers' needs, Fujitsu is giving customers a head start in their cloud deployments,” Schutz said.

Private Cloud Fast Track is a full package of servers, storage, networking equipment and management software needed build a private cloud. Fujitsu has offered such packages before, but has now upgraded the solution for Windows Server 2012.

Another package that’s been upgraded its Fujitsu’s FlexFrame for SAP. This is also an end-to-end IT infrastructure solution built to run SAP business applications.
