Power services and solutions specialist, Comtec Power has announced it is to begin work on a new 3,000ft┬▓ facility which will be used to demonstrate how IT and facility managers can reduce costs and lower the environmental impact of the IT department.
Anticipated to be completed early next year, the model' data center will highlight a range of energy-efficient technologies from vendors including APC, Chloride, Emerson and MGE. According to Nick Claxson, managing director, the new site will deploy the company's new Datacentre Eco-Structure best framework and feature In Row Cooling technology estimated to be 35 per cent more efficient than traditional air conditioning, intelligent UPS systems that limit waste power and APC's new hydrogen-based fuel cell technology that could replace back-up generators with no carbon emissions.
