BladeLogic, Inc. a leading provider of data center automation software, has announced that gedas Operational Services (gedas os), an important IT service provider for the automotive, manufacturing and service industries, has selected BladeLogic's data center automation solutions as the core platform to automate and manage its server and application infrastructure in support of its consulting clients. In addition, BladeLogic also announced that gedas os has recently finished an implementation of BladeLogic's software at the Frankfurt International Airport in Germany.
gedas os initially implemented BladeLogic at the Frankfurt International Airport to help transition the organization's current software applications to servers in a new data center. Since that implementation, the airport's IT organization has expanded its use of BladeLogic to other areas of data center management. "After successfully using the BladeLogic solution to get our new data center up and running in April of 2007, we will now use BladeLogic to automate a wide range of data center processes, including server provisioning, configuration management, policy-based compliance and application release management, said Falk Wieland, data center manager for gedas os at the Frankfurt International Airport. "By implementing BladeLogic, we expect to significantly reduce specific data center costs and improve operational efficiencies.
"In order to support the complex IT demands of our numerous outsourcing clients, we needed a robust and flexible data center automation solution, said Bernd Hoehnel, business unit manager, Applications and Systems, gedas os. "We selected BladeLogic because it was the only solution we evaluated that could both help with moving existing applications to servers in the new data center and then help us to manage those servers and applications in the most optimal manner.
"With over 300 employees, gedas os has built a reputation as one of Germany's most successful IT outsourcing companies for mid-market companies through its commitment to innovation, said Luca Lazzaron, vice president, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), BladeLogic. "In selecting BladeLogic as the data center automation platform for its consulting services organization, gedas os is building on this reputation by providing its clients with one of the most innovative and sophisticated server and application management solutions available today.
