San Jose, California-based data center services company Fortune Data Centers has introduced a new offering to its portfolio, called RackReady. This is basically a fully built-out data center space that’s only missing IT racks.

As Fortune put it, the offering is for companies that need to graduate from retail-caliber colocation deployments to more of a wholesale-caliber space but do not want to go through the hassle of building out their own suites, which they have to do in traditional wholesale data center deals.

“We've listened to the market and believe that there is significant demand for tenants that want the economic benefits of wholesale colocation, but aren't as keen to engage architects, hire contractors, or commission their own power distribution equipment,” John Sheputis, Fortune CEO, said.

“Retail tenants really want to place their cabinets and turn them up. Our goal was to create a product that did everything else.”

The option is available in both Fortune’s San Jose and its newer Oregon data centers. RackReady deals are for no more than 1MW of capacity each.

Fortune will work with the customer to build out the space to their requirements.
