American Internet Services (AIS), a data center and cloud services provider, announced that Fortress Credit Corp., an affiliate of Fortress Investment Group, has provided the company a US$43.5m senior secured credit facility. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Ken Sands, managing director of credit funds at Fortress, said, the deal illustrated the investment firm's continued support for “middle-market companies” in the sector. “AIS is a recognized regional leader in tailored data center and cloud service solutions and we are pleased to have arranged this financing that will support their future growth,” he said.

Fortress' portfolio consists of about $53bn worth of assets under management. The company plays in a variety of capital-market types, including private-equity, credit, liquid hedge funds and traditional fixed income.

Tim Caulfield, AIS CEO, said, refinancing the company’s debt enabled it to take advantage of historically-low interest rates while providing resources for additional investment in new products and services and continuing market expansion. “We look forward to working with Fortress, a knowledgeable and experienced lender to the internet-infrastructure sector.”

DH Capital, a private investment-banking company that specializes in the internet-infrastructure space, advised AIS on the financing.
