FortaTrust, a company that until February was called Infolink, has launched its first US data center under the new brand name.

The facility in Doral, Florida (Miami metro) was designed and built for AT&T to the telco giant’s specifications, FortaTrust said. It provides less than 20,000 sq ft of data center space with access to 1.5MW of redundant power and a variety of major network carriers.

Miguel Abood, FortaTrust brand manager, said the launch for the facility gives the company’s customers immediate access to its products and services in the North American market. The company has until recently been focused on Latin America.

“We now have access to even greater resources to build upon and improve our service level for customers desiring services in North America,” Abood said.

Carriers offering connectivity at the site include AT&T, Level 3, PCCW, FiberLight, FPL FiberNet, Verizon, and Comcast. FortaTrust owns and operates a redundant fiber-optic network ring that connects the data center to the Terremark NAP of the Americas mega-data center in Miami (owned by Verizon), which gives it access to even more carriers.

FortaTrust has more expansion in the works. When Infolink announced the creation of FortaTrust, it said it was planning to expand its Panama data center in the second quarter and to move into a Sao Paulo facility owned by another company by the end of the first quarter.

The company has not announced a Sao Paulo launch, and its representatives did not respond to a request for comment in time for publication.

Toward the end of the year, FortaTrust is planning to open a data center in Europe, the company said in February.
