AI communications firm Nixxy has taken over the telecoms and data center assets of a small provider as part of its pivot away from recruitment.
Announced last week, Nixxy completed the acquisition of the Edge data center assets of Everythink Innovations Limited (EIL), a telecom and Edge infrastructure provider with operations in Fremont, California, and Vancouver, Canada.
The Nasdaq-listed company paid for the acquisition in stock and an additional $150,000 upon certain conditions, for an aggregate transaction value of $3.65 million.
Details of the data center assets being taken over weren’t shared. Nixxy said the assets are expected to enhance in-house capacity for AI-enabled communications workloads and improve network resiliency.
The deal will also help Nixxy’s bottom line, adding more than $48 million in contracted annual recurring revenue from wholesale data, VPN, and interconnect services.
"This strategic asset purchase is a transformative step forward for Nixxy," said Mike Schmidt, CEO of Nixxy. "It accelerates our AI data infrastructure rollout and positions us with operational assets across two key North American data center hubs, while serving as the blueprint for future Edge data center expansion in North America, Europe, and Asia."
Everythink was previously led by Richard Lau, who is also in charge of several other companies, including DomainEasy and Logo.com. He also founded Resume.com.
Last week also saw Nixxy post its Q2 2025 earnings results. The company delivered $13.47 million in revenue – “primarily” from telecommunications services.
The quarter saw the company “close or advance three IP acquisitions integral to Nixxy's platform;” Savitr (Aura CPaaS), Aqua Software (AI systems), and NexGenAI (gen-AI/ML stack).
Nixxy aims to offer “real-time voice, switching, billing, and automation infrastructure—powered by artificial intelligence,” via its Auralink AI product. The company’s AuraCloud is described as an “AI-powered telco backbone” to host, route, and optimize SMS and voice traffic at scale.
The company was formerly known as Recruiter.com Group, Inc. The company rebranded to Nixxy last year and has been pivoting to AI. The company sold the recruiter name and site last year and announced the planned spin-out of its Cogno workforce management platform. It then announced plans to acquire companies focused on transforming traditional markets with AI.
Schmidt was appointed CEO in May 2025 to “accelerate Nixxy's telecom and AI transformation.” He previously had stints at Uniserve Communications, Uban Communications, and Teliphone Navigata Westel. He took over from Debra Chen Volpone, who was appointed in January.
