Chad Williams, the founder and former CEO of data center firm QTS, has launched a new powered land venture.

Quality Growth Companies (QGC) has announced the launch of Quality Infratech Intelligence (QII), which aims to provide powered industrial campuses for AI factories, advanced manufacturing, and other energy-intensive operations.

The company is led by Chad Williams, the former CEO of data center developer QTS.

QII aims to develop 100MW to “multi-gigawatt” campuses through a combination of integrated “land strategy, power readiness, and project execution under a single operating approach.”

Details on any planned projects haven’t been shared.

QII notes it will use prefabricated power and site infrastructure built off-site, known as QMods, to deliver projects more quickly.

“We helped build one generation of digital infrastructure,” Williams said. “Now the industry requires a different approach. That’s why we built QII. We need to disrupt the model that shaped the past to prepare for the AI factories of the future.”

Rich Voorberg, QII’s chief infratech officer and former president of Siemens Energy North America, leads the company’s energy strategy.

“Energy determines what gets built and when,” said Voorberg. “You can have demand, land, and capital, but without a real path to grid connection, projects stall. QII brings power, experience, and utility relationships into the process early so customers can understand what is possible, what needs to happen first, and how to move forward with confidence.”

Quality Growth Companies is a family office platform founded by Chad and Jeannie Williams.

Williams founded QTS in Kansas City in 2003 after acquiring an office building in Overland Park that housed a 2,500-square-foot data center. QTS still maintains its original data center at its Overland Park headquarters in the city.

Investment giant Blackstone acquired QTS in 2021 for $10 billion. Williams announced he was stepping down as CEO in March 2025, and officially relinquished his position the following month.
