An office with data center space, formerly the headquarters of Peregrine Group, is up for sale in Cedar Valley, Iowa.
Listed by CBRE Hubbel Commercial via Loopnet, the two-story building spans 50,000 sq ft (5,110 sqm) and is set on a 22-acre lot at 1 Peregrine Way in Black Hawk County.
Specifications of the data center space have not been disclosed, but the offering does include central air units for data center cooling and an Argon fire suppression system.
There is also a backup diesel generator located in the basement of the building.
The current sale price for the property is $6 million, with lease terms open to negotiation.
It was first built in 2008 by financial firm Peregrine Group.
Russell Wasendorf, CEO of the Peregrine Group, was charged with the embezzlement of more than $200m in 2012.
At the time of the scandal, the building at 1 Peregrine Way was the only property not to hit the market. Other Peregrine-owned real estate put up for sale included the MyVerona restaurant building, a four-bedroom house, a former warehouse building, and Wasendorf’s private estate; all located in Cedar Falls.
Soon after, Wasendorf was sentenced to 50 years behind bars, and the 1 Peregrine Way property was put on auction in May 2013, with a starting bid of $2.75m.
