NYSE's Mahwah data center suffered an electrical fire the company said in a notice to customers issued on Sunday night.

The company said trading would not be affected when the market opened on Monday morning.

"NYSE trading systems were not affected, and will operate on a normal schedule tomorrow, Monday, Oct. 10,"NYSE Euronext wrote.

The data center came online in April last year. The 400,000 sq ft site is split into 20,000 sq ft pods.

The room affected by the fire houses 58 customers and NYSE warned communications would be impacted.

NYSE's sister data center to the Mahwah site is located in Basildon, outside London.
