Faction, the Infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) start-up formerly known as Peak, has successfully patented its Internetwork eXchange (FIX) and cloud bloc applications.

The company, which saw 44 percent year-on-year growth in 2016, distributes its services through channel partners, with the hardware provided by technology partners such as VMware, Cisco and Dell.

Customized solutions

FIX enables private cloud users to connect applications to the public cloud, which Faction claims allows for added control and security without compromising on the flexibility of the infrastructure.

Cloud bloc is a hybrid cloud customization service for enterprises wanting to fashion company-specific network, storage and security settings.

Faction’s offerings also include a cloud marketplace which connects customers and channel partners to cloud service providers and approved vendors, and its advanced solutions team, a consultancy service for companies with complex cloud requirements.

Having received $27 million in funding between 2013 and last year, the company is optimistic about its future prospects, with multiple patent applications underway. The multi-cloud solution provider recently received an $11 million investment from current investors Meritage Funds and Sweetwater Capital, alongside newcomers Charterhouse Strategic Partners and the Rifkin-Pottle Group.
