Global data center provider Equinix has won a new client from the financial market vertical for one of its data centers in the New York market. Electronic trading firm Boston Options Exchange Group will move its equipment, including an "ultra-fast" matching engine to the provider's International Business Exchange facility in Secaucus, NJ.

Boston Options Exchange is an all-electronic equity options market, which traders can access from locations in New York City and Chicago. Equinix is now leveraging its new client to sell space and interconnect services in the Secaucus facility to traders wishing to connect to the exchange's infrastructure directly from the data center to reduce latency, the most crucial factor in today's electronic trading business.

"We welcome BOX to the Equinix (NY4) campus and to our Financial eXchange ecosystem that provides the choices that help them to deliver their optimized transaction performance, the highest levels of security and an opportunity to meet their strategic growth initiatives when needed," Equinix Head of Business Development John Knuff said in a statement.

"Its move to Equinix further benefits our existing community members who may want to connect with the Boston Options Exchange."
