Smith is an ex US army man having spent eight years in the military where he was aide-de-camp to the office of the Commander in Chief of the US Armed Forces in the Pacific. Smith graduated from the US Military Academy at West Point and holds a BS in Engineering.
"3PAR has continued to grow and increase market share by introducing industry-changing storage virtualisation technologies and backing these technologies with a strong commitment to customer service," said Smith. Smith is an ex HP VP where he ran the Consulting and Integration, Managed Services, and Technology Deployment and Support business groups. Prior to HP, Smith served as Vice President of Global Professional and Managed Services at Lucent Technologies. He also held various positions during his 16 years with Electronic Data Systems Corporation.
