After seeing success of its business continuity services for traders in Asia and Europe, Equinix launched the offering in the US. The colocation provider is now offering Business Continuity Trading Room services in its NY7 data center in New York.
BCTR services are aimed at ensuring business continuity and disaster recovery for mission-critical trading infrastructure. In customized private suites, clients will have access to trading desks equipped with monitors, workstations and specialized trading phones.
Allan Graham, director of business continuity products at Equinix, said financial services companies needed instant access to facilities in case of a disaster. "Equinix offers a range of solutions and features that reduce risk while providing additional value, including use of backup facilities for remote work, QA testing, training and other activities," he said.
Equnix has been providing BCTR services in its data centers in Hong Kong and Germany. One of the first customers to sign on to use its disaster recovery and business continuity services in New York is Surge Trading, a New York-based electronic market maker.
