The deal builds on a May 2026 Letter of Intent, which laid the groundwork for developing and delivering protection solutions for electrical substations in Finland and the Baltic countries.

“Critical infrastructure in Europe is being targeted in a way we have not seen for decades. Together with Enersense, we can take customers all the way from understanding the threat to protection that is built and working on site,” said Vibeke Krohn, president and CEO of Betolar.

According to the companies, the solutions will combine physical protection, such as drone nets and protective walls, with other structures to improve security, and includes Betolar’s low-carbon concrete solutions for use in substation projects.

The companies state that the agreement covers substations and other power grid solutions for both grid and industrial customers, such as data centers.

“Enersense is one of Finland’s leading companies in substation design, construction and maintenance. As the need to protect critical infrastructure continues to grow, our customers are increasingly seeking innovative solutions to enhance reliability of energy networks. Together with Betolar, we are helping to make power transmission more secure,” said Juha Silvola, EVP, Power at Enersense.

Enersense was founded in 2005 and is headquartered in Pori, Finland. The company designs, builds, maintains, and modernizes systems for energy transmission and generation, industrial energy transitions, data centers, and telecommunications.

Betolar Oyj was founded in 2017 and develops low-carbon, cement-free, and waste-free alternatives for the construction, mining, and metals industries.
