Two major data center infrastructure equipment vendors have partnered to develop a joint comprehensive solution for data center cooling, power and infrastructure management.

Emerson Network Power said Tuesday it would combine its precision cooling, UPS and other monitoring and management technologies with Panduits platform for comprehensive infrastructure control called Unified Physical Infrastructure. According to Emerson, its partner’s UPI approach enables better integration of infrastructure of the data center itself and that of the building that contains it. 

“Our collaboration with Emerson Network Power enables Panduit to realize the UPI-based principles of physical to logical systems integration in the data center environment,” Panduit VP of Global Strategic Marketing Vineeth Ram said in a statement. “Reference architectures and reference designs for the data center from Panduit and Emerson will help to optimize the data center infrastructure for power, cooling, speed, space and performance.” 

Earlier this month, Emerson released results of a study that concluded that infrastructure management and monitoring had become a top concern for data center operators.
