EMC, Cisco and MIT are building a high performance data center in western Massachusetts which will run on hydro electric power from the Conneticut river.

The project is a public private collaboration involving the storage and networking firms, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Boston University.

The Boston Globe newspaper reported the project on Tuesday 9th June and an official announcement was made on June 11th.
