Dimension Data deployed a mobile data center solution for Emirates International Investment Company (EIIC), which also signed a three year maintenance contract with the supplier.

'EIIC was in the process of rolling out an ERP solution, upgrading a number of IT systems and hardware, and implementing a disaster recovery strategy,'said Mr. Nader Atout, Sales Director - Gulf Region at Dimension Data. 'In order to accommodate these upgrades, EIIC knew that it had to upgrade its data center environment as well as build a solid 'high availability'system in a remote location. After conducting a workshop to determine the specifications and requirements for the new data center, EIIC realised that it would not be able perform the upgrade due to the limited amount of space and power available in its new office environment.'

EIIC contracted Dimension Data for the supply of 2 mobile data centers for their remote site. 'The deployment of the mobile data centers is to take place within the desired timeframe. Dimension Data were professional and we have signed a support and maintenance agreement for the next three years,'says Mr. Muhannad Abu-Hassan, CIO, EIIC.

Dimension Data launched its Data Center Infrastructure business and 'Managed Services'business in the UAE in October 2008.
