Dell announced Thursday the appointment of Adriana Karaboutis as its new CIO. Formerly VP of IT at Dell, she will be overseeing the company’s IT organization, including its global data center infrastructure.
Karaboutis is taking over the position after Robin Johnson, who “left Dell to pursue other opportunities,” Dell said in a statement.
Dell CFO Brian Gladden said Karaboutis had made a “huge impact” during her time at Dell, furthering the company’s strategy of becoming a comprehensive provi9der of enterprise solutions and services.
“I know as our CIO she will play a critical role as we build on our successes to help Dell and our customers maximize IT productivity through our own powerful and flexible solutions,” Gladden said.
In her previous role at Dell, the company’s new CIO supported product groups, manufacturing, procurement and supply chain operations. According to Dell, she was at the forefront of a global roll-out of a new manufacturing-execution system, which in effect transformed the company’s manufacturing operations.
Prior to Joining Dell in 2010, Karaboutis worked in the automotive industry, working for GM and Ford for a total of 21 years.
